The brain and behavior—today’s scientific frontier

The Epicenter: positioned for breakthroughs

Research plays a key role in understanding, treating and preventing complex mental illness. Through our affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine, one of the country's top-rated medical schools, and our collaborations with world-class scientists in Houston and abroad, The Epicenter will remain at the forefront of brain and behavior research. At the Brain-Behavior Discovery Building, our researchers and clinicians will pursue advances in mental health with the same determination and commitment their counterparts apply to today's medical challenges.

Research-oriented patient care

The rich research environment at The Epicenter will increase opportunities for patients to benefit from access to the newest data-informed treatments. Research-oriented care provides a higher value for patients and their families.

Studying treatment outcomes is another significant Menninger initiative. By following patients long after their initial treatment, our professionals determine the effectiveness of treatment protocols for mental disorders and the incidence of relapse. Tracking these results further enhances evidence-based care for future generations by sharing data that advances the field of psychiatry.
